Currency be damned (cross post)
I’m not saying I am great with money. I could be more frugal. But as a whole the population of the Unites States is financially illiterate, to such a drastic point, most them do not realize that is what causing them so many problems. Let’s just say the older generation that doesn’t trust computers or apps are more secure, despite what their financial situation may be. It is a significant problem, but the wool is over USian eyes like there is no problem.
Some *minor responsible financial advice that absolutely will not lead you wrong.
– Be frugal. Accept that you can do without.
– Never use third party apps.
– Never invest in third party services.
– Before you make that purchase that is essential, remember shop around. You will be surprised to find reliable providers are out their for less.
– Teach yourself what is *legitimate.
– If you can’t avoid the major stores, it is okay.
– Keep mileage/gas waste in mind before online buys.
Now all that is assuming we stay in this capitalist hellhole. Even better would be to research degrowth intra-community investing and caregiving, it doesn’t have to be “socialism” – it can simply be environmental justice – economic justice, – learn how to create communities of mutual caregiving in your local area. You will find you can provide each other with most essentials.
Currency be damned.
